KATHMANDU: The writ against Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah will be heard today.

The Supreme Court is going to hear the petition filed against Mayor Shah of Kathmandu Metropolitan City for not picking up the garbage of Sheetal Niwas, the main administrative center of the country and the President’s Office.

Advocate Padam Shrestha filed a writ in the Supreme Court on Monday, stating that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City did not collect waste against the law, demanding that the waste be collected immediately and taken to the landfill site, regular waste collection and disposal. The same writ is going to be heard today.

Balen, the mayor of Kathmandu, stated on Facebook eight days ago that the city will not pick up rubbish from the Singha Durbar due to the latter’s lack of cooperation.
