KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ expressed sorrow over the deaths of dozens of citizens in Turkey’s earthquake.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, he paid tribute to the deceased and expressed his condolences on behalf of the Government of Nepal and the Nepalese people.

At 4:17 a.m. local time today, an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude struck near Gaziantep, Syria, in Turkey’s southeastern region.

At least 20 aftershocks followed, some hours later during daylight, the strongest measuring 6.6.
