Martyrs’ Week begins today in honor of the martyrs

KATHMANDU: Martyrs Week has begun today. Every year from Magh 10-16 (Jan 24-30), the week honors the martyrs who gave their lives for the establishment of democracy and freedom throughout history.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has organized a tribute meeting at Teku Machali this morning in honor of Shukraraj Shastri’s immortality.

Similarly, on the Magh 13 and 15, there will be a program at Sifal Ukalo and Shobha Bhagwati.

Likewise, after reaching in Lainchaur from Shanti Batika on Magh 16, a meeting will be held at Shaheed Stambha.

Martyrs’ Week and Day have been observed in collaboration with the then-Kathmandu Municipality since 2012.
