Karnali State govt forms taskforce to make plan for youth employment

KARNALI: The first Cabinet meeting of the Karnali State government has formed a taskforce to make a plan for youth employment.

The meeting chaired by Chief Minister of the state Raj Kumar Sharma at the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers on Wednesday formed the five-member task force coordinated by Shyam Krishna Thapa, Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning.

Under the plan, every year, 10,000 unemployed youths from the province would get job opportunities. The task force has been given a 30 days’ timeframe to draw a roadmap and make an action plan for self-employment through employment opportunities under the prosperous Karnali campaign, said CM Sharma.

Members of the task force are secretaries of the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, while administrative chief of the Karnali State Planning Commission is member-secretary.

Upon assuming office, CM Sharma unveiled his plan to create 10,000 employment opportunities to unemployed youths ever year.
