Govt residence in Gandaki vacant, new minister stays in Lakeside hotel

POKHARA: Sita Sundas, the newly appointed minister in Gandaki, is currently staying in a Lakeside hotel. She does not have a rented house or a house in Pokhara, and despite becoming a minister, she has been living in a hotel.
Despite becoming a minister, she has been unable to use the government residence as the ministry has not yet been completed. Not only Sita, but also two other Gandaki residents, have not relocated to the government residence.
Minister Hari Bahadur Chuman has a tent in Pokhara. He is staying in a rented room while another minister Pancharam Gurung is staying in his own house in Gharipatan.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, there is a problem with giving the minister residence until the ministry is completed. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Khagraj Adhikari relocated to the official residence.
The cabinet’s expansion has been delayed due to a lack of agreement in Gandaki on the number of ministries.
