Jumla accident update: 1 killed, 14 injured

SURKHET: One person died in a jeep accident in Jumla.

According to the district administration office Jumla, 42-year-old Chorten Lama of Patarasi Rural Municipality 1 Mathachaur died on the spot. Fourteen people were injured in the accident.

The police said that an accident occurred at a place called Kota cliff in Patarasi Rural Municipality-6 at 4 pm on Monday.

The jeep fell into the Tila river 50 meters below the road while backing.

The injured have been taken to the Karnali Institute of Health Sciences for treatment.

There were 16 people in the jeep. 14 people were injured. One person has died.

The police say that the driver is absconding and the search for him is ongoing.
