Massive fire in Sidhuwa Bazar, six houses gutted

KATHMANDU: A huge fire broke out in Sidhuwa Bazar in Chhathar Jorpati Rural Municipality of Dhankuta on Friday evening.

The fire that started at Santosh Rai’s house in Kauli Chowk, Bazar, has damaged six houses.

The Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police, and local residents worked together for two hours to put out the fire.

According to District Police Chief SP Laxmiraj Adhikari, two houses were completely destroyed and four were partially destroyed in the incident. According to him, Santosh Rai and Jhamak Thapa’s homes have been completely destroyed.

Hom Bahadur Thapa’s, Dik Bahadur Khadka’s, Arjun Ghimire’s, and Damber Bahadur Thapa’s houses were partially damaged.

The police have not yet received information on the extent of the damage.
