KATHMANDU: Charles Sobhraj, a serial killer, has request the Central Jail Administration to keep him away from the media.

He stated that he will not speak to the media and asked that no photographs be taken.

He was brought to the immigration department by the prison administration after he was released.

Preparations are underway to process him and return him to France.

The Supreme Court ordered him to complete the process and return to France within 15 days. However, Sobhraj stated that his relatives from France were staying at the hotel and that he had asked them to stay for a few days.

Between 1963 and 1976, Sobhraj was a fugitive who committed serial murders in Thailand, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, France, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Greece. The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) issued a green corner notice against him.

Sobhraj was convicted of murdering Armand Laurent Carrier in Bhaktapur, Nepal, on Dec 21, 1975, and a young woman named Conejo Branchi two days later, and was sentenced to life in prison.
