Votes count in 147 places continues: NC 48, UML 34 & Maoist 18 & RSP leading in 13 places

KATHMANDU: Votes are still being counted in 147 of the 165 House of Representatives constituencies as part of the House of Representatives and State House member elections held on Sunday.

According to the Commission, Gagan Kumar Thapa of Congress has been elected in Kathmandu Constituency No. 4, Tek Bahadur Gurung in Manang Constituency No. 1 and Yogesh Gauchan Thakali in Mustang Constituency No. 1. In the ongoing counting of votes, the Congress candidate is ahead in 48 places. CPN UML 34, CPN Maoist Center 18, National Independent Party 13, CPN Unified Samajwadi 7 and other candidates are ahead in 24 places.

UML 15, Congress 11, Maoist 5, Unified Socialist 4 and Rastriya Prajatantra Party 2 places are leading in the direct direction of the State Assembly. In Madhesh State, Janamat Party is ahead in two places, Congress in eight, UML in 12, JSP in five and other candidates in 14 places. Two candidates of Janamat Party have won in Madhesh State. Satish Kumar Singh won in Saptari Constituency No. 1 and Mahesh Prasad Yadav won in Constituency No. 2.

In Bagmati State, Congress is ahead in 16, UML 14, Maoist Center 5, Unified Socialist Party and RPP in 4 places and two others. Chhiring Dorje Lama of Congress in Kathmandu Constituency No. 1 and Ram Krishna Chitrakar in Lalitpur Constituency No. 2 and Rameshwor Shrestha of UML in Lalitpur Constituency No. 1 have won the direct election of Bagmati State Assembly.

In Gandaki State, Congress is ahead in eight places, UML in 11, Maoist Center in three and Unified Socialist Party in one place. In Gandaki, Munindra ung Gurung of Congress won from Manang  No. 1, Namdu Gurung from Mustang Region No. 1, and Bikal Sherchan from Region No. 2. Independent candidate Rajeev Gurung won from Manang Constituency No. 2.

In Lumbini province, UML is ahead in 11 places, Congress in nine places, Maoist Center in four places, Rastriya Prajatantra Party in three places, JSP in two places and other candidates in six places. In Karnali State, Congress and Maoist Center are ahead in four places and in Far West State, Congress has five, UML has four, Unified Socialist Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party and Independent candidate are ahead in one place each.
