KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) has decided to reject the formation of a parliamentary probe committee to investigate the cooperative embezzlement case.

In a meeting held on Tuesday, the party parliamentary group rejected the proposal to form a parliamentary probe committee, citing false allegations against their leader Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative embezzlement case as the reason.

Discussions were also held during the meeting on how to make the ongoing budget session effective, starting on May 10.

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has demanded the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate the embezzlement of funds in the cooperative case.
