One athlete killed after collapsing while paragliding

POKHARA: A paraglider competing in the 9th National Games’ cross-country paragliding game died when the parachute suddenly fell while flying.

At around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, while competing in the cross-country paragliding game as part of the 9th National Games Competition in Pokhara Metropolitan City-18 Sarangkot, a Blue Sky Company parachute suddenly fell to the ground from about 100 meters in the air.

Niseem Thapa, 26, of Pokhara Metropolitan City 10 Hospital Chowk, was injured while paragliding on behalf of Nepal Tribhuvan Army Club and was taken to Metro City Hospital for treatment, where the doctor declared her dead at 12:45 while checking.
