TIRSHULI: The political parties of Nuwakot have made a collective commitment to follow the code of conduct issued for the general election to be held on Nov 20.

The political parties that attended the all-party/all-party meeting organized by Chief Electoral Officer Madan Bahadur Dhami pledged to follow the Election Commission’s code of conduct.

According to him, the current code of conduct prohibits more than 25 people from participating in the registration of candidacy today, and the parties have committed to complying with the ban on taking away music and dances.

“Necessary preparations have been completed in Nuwakot for the registration of nominations for two constituencies under the House of Representatives and four constituencies under the State Assembly”, he said.

Participants in the meeting included Arun Kumar Shrestha of the CPN (UML), Raju Thapa of the Nepali Congress, Bimala Subedi of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Deepesh Pandey of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and representatives from 29 political parties registered with the District Election Office Nuwakot.

In the election code of conduct, which has been in effect since August 28, a maximum of ten flags can be used during campaigning in the upcoming election on Nov 20, the national flag cannot be used, campaigning can only be done 17 days before the election, and candidates must submit property and personal information (biodata).)

Forms must be submitted, more than 25 people must gather to submit nomination papers, and they cannot go to voters’ doorsteps during campaigning, among other things. The district’s political parties have made a collective commitment to adhere to the aforementioned arrangement.
