KATHMANDU: Constitution Day is observed today to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the Constituent Assembly’s promulgation of the new constitution.

To commemorate the day, the Constitution Day Main Ceremony Committee organized a special ceremony at Sainik Manch Tundikhel in the morning.

The ceremony is attended by President Bidyadevi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Speaker Agni Sapkota, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Ministers, MPs, leaders, employees, security chiefs, and others.

Various cultural tableaus were displayed during the ceremony, while army helicopters showered flowers and a white pigeon, a symbol of peace, was flown.

The Constituent Assembly of Nepal adopted the Nepal Constitution on Ashoj 3, 2072 (20 Sept 2015).
