Hot air balloon to be re-launched in Pokhara

KATHMANDU: The hot air balloon will be operational in Pokhara from this September.

Balloon Nepal Pvt. Ltd. will relaunch the adventure, which was closed due to COVID-19. Previously, on November 16, 2018, the company began flying hot air balloons in Pokhara.

The hot air balloon will take off from Pame, which is located on the upper bank of the Phewa Tal. The beautiful Pokhara valley and its surroundings can be seen while ascending three to four thousand meters from the Phewa bank. After the balloon reaches Sarangkot hill, the view of the Annapurna mountain range can be seen.

The company has stated that the flights will be operated every month except Ashar, Shrawan and Bhadra (June to August) when the weather is favorable.

The company has stated that the adventure will cost Nepalis Rs 8,000 per person and foreigners Rs 100 USD (Nepali Rs 12,600) per person. The company also has insurance worth $20,000 per person. The flight duration of the balloon will be 30 to 40 minutes.

At the bottom of the 21-meter-high balloon is a 32-square-foot basket. In a basket, 8 people can travel at the same time.
