RPP’s Samjhana elected as deputy chief of Ramgram

KATHMANDU: MAY. 19 – Dhanpat Yadav of the CPN-UML has been elected mayor of Ramgram Municipality in West Nawalparasi. Samjhana Chaudhary of the RPP won the Deputy Chief post.

Yadav secured 7,729 votes. His nearest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Narendra Kumar Gupta, polled 6,191 votes.

Chaudhary, who was elected deputy chief, polled 6,471 votes, while her closest rival, UML’s Laxmi Chhetri, secured 6,386 votes.

Following the failure of the five-party alliance, the parties went to the polls in Ramgram Municipality on their own.
