Former Leftist leader Laxmi Bhakta Upadhyaya dies

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 29 – Laxmi Bhakta Upadhyaya, a former communist leader and member of the Unified Socialists’ Central Senior Communist Forum, has died. He passed away on Friday. He also serves as the senior vice-chairperson of the Pushpalal Memorial Foundation.

He joined the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) in 2008 BS. He also took part in the People’s Revolution of 2007 BS as a member of the Liberation Army and made notable contributions in Nepali communist circles.

Following his death, leaders such as the Chairperson of the Unified Socialists and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal paid tribute.
