South Africa won the series with a comfortable win over India

KATHMANDU: JAN. 22 – South Africa has grabbed a one-game ahead in the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa. South Africa defeated India by 7 wickets in the second match on Friday, while the home team also won the ODI.

South Africa completed the target of 288 runs set by India by losing 3 wickets before 11 balls. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Rishabh Pant’s 85 and KL Rahul’s 55 were the half-centuries for India. Similarly, Shardul Thakur’s 40 runs and Ravichandran Ashwin’s 25 runs contributed by Shikhar Dhawan who scored 22 runs from 29 Venkatesh Iyer’s loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs.

In response, South Africa also performed well. Openers Janneman Malan and Quinton de Kock shared 132 for the first wicket. Malan scored 91 runs while De Kock played an innings of 78 runs. Captain Temba Bavuma scored 35 runs while Aiden Markram and Rassie van der Dussen played an unbeaten 37-37 innings to secure the victory for South Africa.
