Cinema and gym hall to be closed till Jan 29

KATHMANDU: JAN. 16 – As the COVID-19 infection increases, the government has decided to close the theater and gym until Jan 29.

According to government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communication Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, a cabinet meeting conducted on Friday agreed to restrict the entertainment industry till Jan 29 to avoid overcrowding in public places.

According to him, the order bans the operation of night businesses such as movie halls, dancing bars, dohori, dance halls, gyms, and swimming pools until Jan 29. Similarly, no more than 25 people will be permitted to assemble in public places, ceremonies, or social work until the end of Magh (Jan/Feb).

The government has also decided that only 25 people can enter a department store or shopping mall at a time, that there should be a two-meter gap between two people, that items should not be touched, and that public health requirements should be maintained.

Similarly, the government has decided to get prior approval from the concerned district officer for Marriage, Bratabandha (A ritual that a boy must go through before his marriage), Pasni (Weaning Ceremony or the Rice Feeding Ceremony) and other ceremonies.
