KATHMANDU: JAN. 10 – The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology is preparing to close schools across the country due to an increased danger of a new variant of the coronavirus, Omicron. Deepak Sharma, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, informed Makalu Khabar that plans were being made to publish a public notice closing the school.

Colleges will not be shuttered immediately, according to Sharma, despite the fact that schools around the country were closed. “Schools all around the country are closed, but colleges are not,” he added. ‘The ministry’s public notification is on its way.’

According to Dhan Bahadur Shrestha, Information Officer at the Ministry of Education, it was not decided if the meeting will be held today in accordance with the CCMC’s proposal.

The CCMC meeting had recommended closing the school by Jan 29. The CCMC meeting held on Sunday had recommended 13 points to the government to make vaccination cards mandatory, including not allowing more than 25 people to gather in public places to avoid the coronavirus epidemic.
