Four women killed, driver rescued after car overturns in Sisnekhola

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 2 –  Four women have died when a car was swept away by a river in Dang district. Four persons were killed when a car (State 3-01-24 Cha 4440) coming from Nepalgunj to Ghorahi was swept away by the flood in Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan-4 on Wednesday night.

The vehicle was swept away by the flood while returning after shopping from Rupaidiha. The bodies of Sushila Shrestha, 32, of Ghorahi-13 and Radha Shrestha Kunwar, 30, of Ghorahi-14 were found at the spot. In the same incident, Rita Maya Pun, 40, of Ghorahi-13 and Bimala KC, 42, of Ghorahi-14 went missing due to the flood.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Mukunda Prasad Rijal informed that the body of the missing person was found on the bank of the river at Ghorahi-3 Beluwa at around 3:00 am this morning. The driver Nara Bahadur Pun, 40, of Ghorahi-15 has been found injured and is undergoing treatment at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences.
