KATHMANDU: AUGUST 24 -The proposed CPN (Unified Socialist) party, which split from the UML, has decided not to make professors, teachers and staff members. In the interim constitution prepared by the party, a provision has been proposed not to give membership to professors, teachers and staff.

The criteria required to be an ordinary member of the party stipulates that ‘none of the three levels should be reinstated in the post of professor, teacher or employee of an autonomous institution owned or controlled by the government’.

The party has stated that Nepali citizens who have reached the age of 18 and have not fallen into moral decay will be made members.

The constitution stipulates that ordinary members should not be imprisoned for corruption, rape, human trafficking, drug distribution, export or import, money laundering, kidnapping or other criminal offences.
