KATHMANDU: JUNE 22 – Apple and Samsung Electronics have managed to occupy the first and second position in the tablet computer market respectively.

According to a market monitoring report published by 21st Counterpoint Research on the tablet market, the global tablet computer market has grown by 53 percent this year compared to the previous year. Last year, the tablet market grew by 19 percent.

According to its first quarterly report this year, Apple has a 37 percent share of the global tablet market, while Samsung has a 20 percent market share.

Chinese telecom company Huawei’s tablet product ranked third in the market with 11 percent last year, but this year it has retained that position, but only 5 percent of the market, according to the study.

Huawei’s market has plummeted as the US government has blacklisted a large number of Chinese electronics, telecommunications and drone companies, including Huawei.

Once the company is blacklisted, it cannot purchase patents and resource technologies owned by US companies, as well as parts that include US technology.

In addition, blacklisted companies cannot be listed. Unable to get parts for smartphones and tablets, Huawei will not be able to launch new products.
