NSL: Kathmandu and Dhangadhi competing for the title
KATHMANDU: SATURDAY, MAY 15, 2021 – Dhangadhi Football Club and Kathmandu Rayzrs are competing for the title in the Nepal Super League (NSL), a franchise football competition organized for the first time in Nepal.
Entering the play-offs from the league stage, Kathmandu Rayzrs defeated Lalitpur City FC in the eliminator to make it to the last two.
The same team that competed in the first qualifier is competing for the title against Dhangadhi. Speaking at the trophy public and pre-match conferences, the captains of both the teams have claimed the title.
When Kathmandu takes the field, Dhangadhi has an opportunity to avenge the loss in the league stage and the first qualifier. On the other hand, Dhangadhi, who opened the door for the final with an exciting victory over Kathmandu in extra time in the first qualifier, is also confident of lifting the title easily.
The winner of the first-ever franchise football tournament will receive Rs 3.5 million in cash. Similarly, the runner-up will get Rs 1.5 million while the individual winner and an emerging player will get Rs 1 lakh each.
