Hold 697 vehicles driven in violation of the prohibitory order

KATHMANDU: FRIDAY, MAY 14, 2021 – The prohibitory order has been extended till Jestha 13 in the Kathmandu Valley to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Due to the prohibitory order, the traffic in the Kathmandu Valley is very low. According to the police, only security personnel, health workers, ambulances and essential service vehicles with permission from the District Administration Office are operating in the Kathmandu Valley.

Police have tightened the checkpoint at Chowks. A meeting with the chief district officers of the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur) has extended the prohibitory order till Jestha 13.

The traffic police have held 697 vehicles in different places of Kathmandu Valley on Friday morning.

Among them, there are 545 two-wheelers, 107 four-wheelers, 20 taxis and 25 other heavy vehicles, according to the Traffic Division. So far, prohibitory order have been issued in most parts of the country.
