DANG: TUESDAY, APRIL 6, 2021 – The recent increase in pollution across the country has also affected Dang.

As the pollution has increased, the general public has felt uncomfortable in breathing. In most parts of Dang, the atmosphere is cloudy. There is a problem of eye pain due to air pollution on Tuesday.

The air quality index (AQI) of Dang has reached 162 on the website of IQ Air.com, which measures air pollution. Accordingly, the amount of pollution in Dang has increased from 79 to 162 in the last two days.

Generally, an AQI of less than 50 is considered good. The amount of air pollution in Dhangadhi, the highest in Nepal, has reached 429 AQI. Similarly, there are 308 AQIs in Sauraha of Chitwan, 283 in Bharatpur, 260 in Simara and 223 in Kathmandu. Recently, forest fires have been widespread in Dang.

Nepal Health Research Council Senior Research Officer Dr. Meghnath Dhimal has urged not to go out except for urgent work as air pollution has increased due to forest fire. According to doctors, air pollution causes lung cancer, heart disease, stroke and heart attack. In Nepal, 30,000 to 35,000 people die every year due to air pollution.
