Bird flu in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Bird flu has been found again in Tarkeshwor Municipality of Kathmandu. Bird flu has been confirmed in a poultry farm in Ward No.1 Sanglaphant of the municipality.

After the bird flu was confirmed, more than 12,000 chickens were destroyed on Thursday, said Dr. Chandra Mani Dhakal, spokesperson of the Veterinary Services Department. “A meeting of the Central Bird Flu Coordination Committee is being held now,” he said.

Even before this, bird flu was seen in Tarkeshwar municipality last Magh. Bird flu was also seen in Surkhet only a few weeks ago.
