One dies in jeep accident

Myagdi. One person was killed and four others were injured in a jeep accident at Phaparkhet in Beni Municipality-4 on Thursday night. The jeep (Ga 1 Ja 6788) heading towards Beni from Malika Village Municipality-3 Patle had fallen into the Myagdi River.

According to Shyam Kumar Rai, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Myagdi, Govinda Roka, 62, of Malika-3 died while undergoing treatment at Beni Hospital. A jeep carrying Roka to Pokhara for treatment met with an accident. Nar Bahadur Roka, 30, of Malika-1, Niscot has been recommended to Pokhara for further treatment.

Similarly, Rabindra Roka, 29, Regina Roka, 20, and Khagendra Roka, 38, of Patle are undergoing treatment at Beni Hospital. Apart from the driver, the dead and injured are members of the same family. The injured were rescued by locals of Tatopani Police Post, Tatopani and Pakher. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rai said that investigation into the accident is underway.
