‘Junk food’ prohibited in schools

Kathmandu. The government has banned the provision of junk food in all community schools across the country.

The Education and Human Resource Development Center, Sanothimi, has published a booklet titled ‘Bidhalaya Diwakhaja Bewasthapan Sayogi Pustika’ on Monday.

The center has prepared 60 different types of ‘menus’ and made the booklet public by giving priority to locally produced food. The government has already sent 7 Arab 72 Crore 93 Lakh 30 Thousand students to schools for lunch.

Under this, daily lunch will be provided free of cost to 29 Lakh 40 Thousand 789 students from all over the country. The government will provide lunch at the rate of Rs 20 per student per day in Karnali and Rs 15 per day in other areas. – Rasas
