2 Chinese killed, 10 injured in Russia bus crash
The bus veered off the road and overturned.
KATHMANDU: Two Chinese citizens were killed and at least 10 others injured after a passenger bus overturned in Russia’s Zabaykalsky Krai region, the Chinese Consulate General in Irkutsk said on Saturday.
According to regional authorities, the accident occurred around 2:40 p.m. local time when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle.
The bus veered off the road and overturned.
The bus, carrying more than 40 Chinese passengers, was traveling from the Chinese border city of Manzhouli to the regional capital Chita in Zabaykalsky Krai.
Following the incident, the Chinese Consulate General in Irkutsk activated its emergency response mechanism and dispatched officials to coordinate with Russian authorities for medical treatment and other necessary assistance for the injured passengers.
