10 killed as mini bus plunges into ravine in Tamil Nadu; several injured

KATHMANDU: At least 10 people have died and several others sustained injuries after a mini bus plunged into a deep ravine in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

According to state broadcaster All India Radio, the injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The vehicle was carrying 16 passengers from the neighbouring state of Kerala, who had reportedly travelled to Tamil Nadu for a visit.

The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined.

Local police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation into the incident.

Authorities have also warned that the death toll may rise, as some of the injured are in critical condition.
