KATHMANDU: The USA secured a comfortable 31-run victory over Namibia in their T20 World Cup 2026 Group A clash on Sunday, claiming their second win of the tournament.
Chasing 200, Namibia managed only 168 for six, with Louren Steenkamp top-scoring with a brisk 58 off 39 balls, including five fours and three sixes.
Nicol Loftie-Eaton added 28, while JJ Smith contributed 26. The Americans’ in-form bowler Shadley van Schalkwyk impressed, taking two wickets for just 17 runs.
Earlier, the USA, after winning the toss, elected to bat first and posted 199 for four.
Sanjay Krishnamurthy led the charge with a 68-run cameo off 33 balls, striking four fours and six sixes, while captain Monank Patel scored 52 off 30 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes.
With this win, the USA moved to four points, while Namibia, suffering their third consecutive defeat, remain pointless and out of contention.
