United Fellowship Lalitpur lifts Aashraya Cup title
In the championship match, United Fellowship Lalitpur defeated Sanjeevani Dharan in a dramatic sudden-death penalty shootout.
KATHMANDU: United Fellowship Lalitpur clinched the title of the 4th Aashraya Cup Five-a-Side Inter-Rehab Football Tournament–2082, organized by Aashraya Group, after a thrilling final on Thursday.
In the championship match, United Fellowship Lalitpur defeated Sanjeevani Dharan in a dramatic sudden-death penalty shootout.
The final ended 3–3 in regulation time, forcing the match into penalties. With both teams still level after the shootout, United Fellowship eventually secured victory in sudden death.
As champions, United Fellowship Lalitpur received Rs 100,000 in cash, along with a shield and certificate. Runners-up Sanjeevani Dharan were awarded Rs 50,000.
The tournament brought together rehabilitation centers established for the recovery and reintegration of people affected by drug addiction.
Awards were presented to the winners and runners-up by Gokarneshwor Municipality Mayor Dipak Kumar Risal.
The competition was held at the premises of Aashraya Group Rehabilitation Centre at BP Chowk, Ward No. 1, Gokarneshwor Municipality.
A total of 15 teams from Kathmandu Valley and outside districts participated, including two teams from the host Aashraya Group.
