UML Secretary Bhattarai praises Winter Session’s legislative success
He stated that there was no room for criticism in terms of legislative performance.
KATHMANDU: Yogesh Bhattarai, the Secretary of the CPN-UML, praised the Winter Session of Parliament, calling it a success in terms of legislative work.
Speaking to the media at the Parliament complex on Tuesday, Bhattarai emphasized that 13 bills had been passed during the session, which he described as a significant achievement compared to previous sessions.
He stated that there was no room for criticism in terms of legislative performance.
He also noted that the government had presented several important bills during the Winter Session, which he considered crucial for the nation’s progress.
Furthermore, Bhattarai highlighted Prime Minister’s consistent engagement with Parliament, having addressed it four times, signaling the Prime Minister’s special emphasis on Parliament.
He added that the session also witnessed discussions on timely political issues.
Reflecting on the current state of the newly-formed House of Representatives post-2022, Bhattarai pointed out the lack of maturity and tolerance among members, which he believes is an area requiring improvement for a more effective legislative process.
