UML secretariat meeting today
According to Central Office Secretary Dr. Bhismaraj Adhikari, the meeting will take place at 1:00 PM at party chair KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur.
KATHMANDU: The secretariat meeting of ruling CPN (UML) is being held today, with the central agenda focused on internal role distribution among party leaders.
According to Central Office Secretary Dr. Bhismaraj Adhikari, the meeting will take place at 1:00 PM at party chair KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur. The meeting was originally scheduled for May 16 but was postponed due to incomplete preparations.
Party leaders say the key focus of today’s meeting will be the long-delayed task of assigning responsibilities to central members following the party’s 11th general convention. A UML office-bearer noted that preparations are underway to deploy central committee members as in-charges at the local (municipal) level.
Each central member is expected to be assigned to a local unit to strengthen the party’s position ahead of upcoming local elections. The meeting is also expected to finalize preparations for a central committee meeting to review the party’s performance in the elections held on March 5.
Party insiders add that responsibilities within various central departments and organizational bodies will also be distributed during the meeting.
