UML & royalists face off at Shantibatika

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML is currently holding a celebratory rally in various parts of Kathmandu, including Bhrikutimandap, Shantibatika, and Bhadrakali, with party cadres chanting slogans and waving party flags.

During the rally, UML supporters encountered a royalist (monarchist) group already gathered at Shantibatika.

The unexpected face-off took place as both groups held parallel events in the area.

Royalist supporters were stationed on one side of Shantibatika, while UML cadres carried out their demonstration on the other.

A large number of police personnel have been deployed in the area to maintain order and prevent any potential clash.
