UML revises Yogesh Bhattarai’s seniority ranking
Party Chair KP Sharma Oli had initially proposed placing Yogesh Bhattarai in the third position among the three vice general secretaries.
KATHMANDU: The Secretariat meeting of the CPN (UML) has revised the seniority ranking of its vice general secretaries.
Party Chair KP Sharma Oli had initially proposed placing Yogesh Bhattarai in the third position among the three vice general secretaries.
However, the Secretariat meeting held on Sunday decided to elevate Bhattarai to the second position in the hierarchy.
Bhattarai, who was first elected as a central committee member in the party’s 9th national convention and re-elected in the 10th, was later elected as vice general secretary in the 11th national convention.
His proposed demotion to third position had reportedly triggered dissatisfaction within party ranks.
According to Vice General Secretary Lekhraj Bhatt, the finalized ranking places Bhatt at the top, followed by Yogesh Bhattarai in second position, and Raghubir Mahaseth in third.
