Two teens detained over TikTok gun video
Police have not publicly released the identities of the minors.
KATHMANDU: Police in Sunsari have taken two teenagers into custody following a viral TikTok video showing individuals allegedly carrying a weapon.
According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, the suspects—a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old from Devangunj Rural Municipality–2—were detained on Monday evening at around 6:50 PM after authorities identified them based on the video circulating on social media.
Police have not publicly released the identities of the minors.
During the operation, police also recovered an object resembling a locally made firearm, often referred to as a “katuwa pistol,” from their possession.
Both the seized item and the detained teenagers have been kept at the District Police Office, Sunsari, where further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
