Thakulla elected RSP chair in Kailali
His closest rival, Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary, received 37 votes, while another contender garnered 22 votes.
KATHMANDU: Kabindra Thakulla has been elected chairperson of the district committee of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Kailali.
According to the election committee, Thakulla secured 335 votes to win the post at the party’s first district convention held on Sunday.
His closest rival, Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary, received 37 votes, while another contender garnered 22 votes.
Similarly, Ramlakhan Chaudhary was elected vice-chairperson with 152 votes. Madanraj Joshi was elected secretary and Ganesh Bahadur Shahi joint secretary.
The convention also elected Laxmi Rawal Poudel, Laxmi Bhatta, Junga Bahadur Ale Magar, Deepak BK and Nardeep Bahadur Dhami as members.
Likewise, Tanka Prasad Jaishi was elected from Constituency No. 1, Krishna Bahadur Bista from Constituency No. 2, Basudev Gharedi from Constituency No. 3 and Durga Adhikari from Constituency No. 4.
A total of 335 votes were cast out of 508 eligible voters attending the district convention to elect the new district leadership.
