Two missing since Friday discovered dead
According to the District Police Office, the body of 56-year-old Tirtha Bahadur Thapa Magar was recovered from the Kalpatte area within Parshuram Municipality–5.
KATHMANDU: Two individuals—a missing Armed Police Force (APF) constable and a local resident from Parshuram Municipality–5, Dadeldhura—have been found dead in the Mahakali River, authorities confirmed.
According to the District Police Office, the body of 56-year-old Tirtha Bahadur Thapa Magar was recovered from the Kalpatte area within Parshuram Municipality–5.
He had been missing since last Friday along with APF jawan Om Prakash Pun Magar, who was stationed at the Border Out Post (BOP) Parigaun.
The body of Pun Magar was later discovered along the riverbank in Brahmadev, Kanchanpur.
Preliminary findings suggest both individuals may have been swept away by the Mahakali River.
Their disappearance prompted a search operation after a tube used by them was found on the riverbank.
Police said further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
