KATHMANDU: The second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), underway in Kathmandu, will feature two important matches today at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

The first match, scheduled for 11:15 AM, will see Sudurpaschim Royals take on Biratnagar Kings.

Sudurpaschim, unbeaten so far, have already secured their place in the first qualifier with 12 points from six matches, meaning they will enter today’s game without pressure.

Biratnagar, however, must win to remain in contention for the first qualifier.

With eight points already guaranteeing them a playoff spot, a strong win today—boosting their net run rate—would place them directly into the first qualifier alongside Sudurpaschim.

Otherwise, they will have to face Lumbini Lions in the eliminator.

If Biratnagar fail to secure the top-two spot, the first qualifier will be played between Sudurpaschim Royals and Kathmandu Gorkhas.

The second match, set for 3:30 PM, will be a battle of pride between Chitwan Rhinos and Pokhara Avengers, both of whom are already out of the playoff race.

Each team has only four points from six matches.

As the league stage nears its end, today’s results are expected to shape the final playoff lineup of NPL 2025.
