KATHMANDU: In Nepal’s federal capital, Kathmandu, two separate power demonstrations are taking place today.

According to reports, the Socialist Front is preparing to hold a protest and a public rally on Pradshani Marga.

A stage is being set up in front of the Tourism Board auditorium, which has impacted traffic management in the area since early morning.

The political parties affiliated with the Socialist Front, including the CPN (Maoist Centre), the CPN(Unified Socialist), the Nepal Socialist Party, and the CPN led by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav), are organizing a show of strength at Bhirkutimandap.

Meanwhile, a monarchist group has planned a protest at Kathmandu’s Tinkune.

In light of these rallies by republic supporters and monarchists, the government has stepped up security measures throughout Kathmandu.

Large numbers of security personnel and traffic police have been deployed at various locations since early morning.

Due to these demonstrations, traffic disruptions have already been seen, with several routes closed off.

As a result, commuters have faced difficulties, and transportation has been severely affected.
