Those who seek to impose autocracy are active, be careful: Chairperson Prachanda
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 22 – Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Chairperson of the CPN-Maoist Center, has stated that leftist unity is needed to preserve the achievements made after various movements.
On the occasion of the 73rd founding day of the Communist Party of Nepal and the 152nd Lenin Day, Prachanda said there was a conspiracy to weaken the republic and usurp people’s rights at a program held at the Maoist party office in Parisdanda on Friday.
He stated that those who say that their reactionary power can be restored only by dividing the Maoist movement and the revolutionary communists and those who are trying to impose autocracy again should be vigilant as they are still active.
He further added that there was a possibility of polarization among the communists as the division among the Maoists could not be justified. He also argued that the unity of the CPN (Maoist) could not be maintained because it was trying to weaken the communists.
He stated that, while there are good communists in the UML now, there is a risk that sincere communists will fall prey to the wrong person in leadership.
Prachanda stated that sincere communists within the UML should combat negative tendencies.
