Thapa also drew the government’s attention to the poor management of the Dailekh District Hospital, calling for immediate measures to improve its operation and healthcare services.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Chief Whip Basana Thapa has urged the government to immediately upgrade the Surkhet–Dailekh road section to support the effective implementation of the petroleum exploration project underway in Dailekh.
Speaking during Wednesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Thapa said the narrow and risky condition of the road has become a major concern and stressed that the government should not delay efforts to widen and modernize the route.
She stated that the Surkhet–Dailekh road serves as a “lifeline” for Karnali Province and is crucial for ensuring the success of the petroleum exploration project currently being carried out in Dailekh.
Thapa also drew the government’s attention to the poor management of the Dailekh District Hospital, calling for immediate measures to improve its operation and healthcare services.
In addition, she urged the government to focus on upgrading health posts and strengthening basic healthcare infrastructure across the region.
