Temporary polling centers set up for special voters in Banke
A total of 2,338 special voters have been registered in Banke.
KATHMANDU: Banke District Election Office has established three temporary polling centers for special voters ahead of the upcoming elections.
According to District Election Officer Tek Bahadur Shahi, the centers have been set up at Nawasta Prison for Constituency No. 1, Banke Prison for Constituency No. 2, and Ramleela Ground for government employees.
The special voter list includes employees of federal and provincial governments, local bodies, and government institutions, members of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force stationed in barracks, prisoners, and residents of old-age homes.
A total of 2,338 special voters have been registered in Banke.
They are allowed to vote only in the proportional representation elections.
At a meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Dil Kumar Tamang on Tuesday, 2,415 employees were recommended for participation in the elections.
