Teen girl killed, boy injured in pickup accident

KATHMANDU: A 13-year-old girl was killed and a boy injured when a pickup van fell off the road in Koldanda–Tharpu, Myagde Rural Municipality–4, police reported.

The deceased has been identified as Koiska Gharti, daughter of Buddhibahadur Gharti from Koldanda.

The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. Sunday when the driver of a Ga 3 Cha 5835 pickup lost control, causing the vehicle to plunge about 20 meters off the road.

Koiska sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Province Hospital, Damaule, where she was declared dead at around 8:40 a.m.

A 15-year-old boy, Dipsan Gharti, also from the area, suffered injuries to his chest and waist.

His condition is reported as stable, and he is receiving treatment.

Three people, including the driver, were traveling in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
