KATHMANDU: The final group-stage match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 takes place today, with Australia facing Oman in Group B.

Both teams have already been eliminated from the tournament, making this match largely a formality.

The top two teams from each of the four initial groups have advanced to the Super 8 stage.

These eight teams have been divided into two groups: Group 1 and Group 2.

In the Super 8, each team will play one match against every other team in their respective group.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals. All points from the initial group stage are reset to zero at the start of the Super 8.

Group placements were determined in advance based on team seedings.

If a team replaces a higher-seeded team, it inherits the same group position.

For instance, if Zimbabwe replaces Australia, it takes Australia’s slot in the Super 8.

Super 8 Groups:

  • Group 1: India, Zimbabwe, West Indies, South Africa

  • Group 2: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England, New Zealand

The Super 8 begins with Pakistan vs. New Zealand on Saturday in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

India will face South Africa on Sunday in Ahmedabad, a highly anticipated match seen as a rematch of the 2024 final.

The semifinals will be played on March 4 and 5, featuring the top two teams from each group, with the grand final scheduled for Sunday, March 8, where the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 champion will be crowned.
