Sudurpaschim Royals to field first against Lumbini Lions

KATHMANDU: Sudurpaschim Royals decided to field first after winning the toss against Lumbini Lions in Thursday’s Nepal Premier League (NPL) clash at the Tribhuvan Cricket International Ground, Kirtipur.
Royals captain Dipendra Singh Aire made the call to bowl first.
Having won all three of their previous matches, Sudurpaschim leads the points table, and a victory over Lumbini would further strengthen their playoff chances.
Lumbini, meanwhile, has lost two of their three matches, winning only against Chitwan Rhinos while falling to Karnali Yaks and Kathmandu Gorkhas.
To stay in playoff contention, Lumbini, led by Nepal national team captain Rohit Paudel, must win this crucial encounter.
The team has also included Thomas Draca, replacing Namibia’s JJ Smith.
Draca, the first Italian to play in the NPL, had previously led Italy to their first T20 World Cup appearance.
Sudurpaschim Royals have retained the same squad from their previous match, showing confidence in the winning combination.
