During the meeting, MPs from the party, including Harka Sampang, stood up in protest, disrupting proceedings.
KATHMANDU: The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dol Prasad Aryal, has issued a strong warning to lawmakers of the Shram Shakti Party, urging them to correct their conduct and activities in the House.
During Wednesday’s parliamentary session, members of the party, including its chair Harka Raj Rai (Sampang), continued to disrupt proceedings by displaying placards and obstructing the meeting.
Speaker Aryal stated that such actions were against parliamentary dignity and amounted to disorderly conduct inside the House. He said the warning was issued under Rule 30 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2079.
“In accordance with Rule 30 of the House of Representatives Rules 2079, I hereby warn the Honorable Members, including Harka Raj Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party, to correct their activities and behavior as they have repeatedly displayed placards and engaged in unruly conduct against parliamentary decorum,” the Speaker said.
The party’s lawmakers have been regularly obstructing parliamentary sessions, protesting against Prime Minister Balen Shah.
Party chair Harka Sampang has also reportedly walked out of the meeting hall during proceedings.
