KATHMANDU: House of Representatives was thrown into turmoil on Thursday as opposition lawmakers continued a bell encirclement and vocal protests, demanding the presence of Prime Minister Balen Shah in the chamber.

Despite the sustained uproar, Speaker DP Aryal proceeded with parliamentary business, refusing to halt proceedings as opposition members continued chanting inside the well of the House.

Earlier in the session, the House was briefly adjourned for 15 minutes after opposition lawmakers intensified their obstruction, pressing their demand for the Prime Minister’s immediate appearance.

Following the suspension, Speaker Aryal visited the Prime Minister’s Office for discussions.

After returning from the meeting, Aryal resumed the session, moving forward with the agenda despite continued protests and slogans from opposition benches.

The standoff inside Parliament remained unresolved as tensions persisted on the floor.
