Speaker Aryal blasts opposition over Parliament disruption

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives witnessed a tense moment after opposition parties disrupted proceedings, demanding the presence of the Prime Minister and blocking the session.

Speaker DP Aryal became visibly frustrated after UML Chief Whip Ain Maher and NCP Chief Whip Yug Raj Dulal refused to speak despite being allotted a brief time. He accused opposition lawmakers of acting in an unparliamentary manner.

“I have not given time, nor the microphone, yet the honorable member is speaking continuously. Is this within dignity? I am willing to give time to honorable Ain Maher. How many hours of time does he want?” the Speaker said, expressing strong dissatisfaction over the disruption.
